Karl spoke to Total Film Magazine and assured fans the Dredd movie will be faithful to the comic. He described Dredd as a "set up film. A day in the Judge's life as he puts rookie Anderson through her paces". He then goes on to talk about how the character in the comics never reveals his face, something ignored by the 1995 Judge Dredd film. "If anyone is familiar with Dredd, over the years there are many times when he removes his helmet but you never fully see his face. This was a construct by the creators because he represents a faceless system of justice and law. I say this hypothetically. If I went to a movie called Judge Dredd and the lead actor at one point took of his helmet so we could see his full face I would just puke in my popcorn because that's not Dredd. He is mysterious and enigmatic. We're doing it right, it's gonna be harder, grittier and above all faithful to the comic. It's gonna kick arse."

Wikipedia's Karl Urban page lists his birthdate as August 7th, which is absolutely incorrect. That error came about after Bruce Willis mentioned in a TV interview that Karl's birthdate was August 7th and Karl nodded and agreed. For some strange reason, people believed that and August 7th started popping up on the Web as his birthday. For the record, Karl's birthday is in fact June 7th.
